I've had this book for over a year and have read it multiple times.I left the simple concepts in this book as I went down the copywriting hole. The only thing I got was confusion. I got so bogged down with so much info I was not able to put any of it to use.I have since decided to simplify and go back to the basics and this was the first book that I grabbed.I am currently starting a freelance PPC business and this book provides more than enough information and actionable steps than I'll never need for writing ads.With that said, don't think that because it's so small it won't help. Do yourself a favor, put down these big textbooks and read this one multiple times and you will be well o your way to writing copy that gets action.Don't sleep on this powerful little book.
Neville's writing is addictive. He writes in an unapologetic way, saying things that we all want to say, wonder or want to ask about. The result is very practical, no fuss, but highly effective copywriting tips packed in this small but punchy book. I'm sure all of us want others just to get to the point and wish to say what we really mean faster and truer, to make more money with every word we say or write. This book teaches you all that. I just finished reading the book, so I'm yet to apply the tips from this book, but having written many sales emails and speeches, I realize now the wrong/ineffective things I had done and must correct to be a much more effective communicator, which is essentially a persuasive one. Neville's style of communicating is conversational and simplistic. I like that he writes the way he would read copy: me no like, me bored, me no understand; it makes his teaching easy to understand, leaving no room for confusion. Highly recommended for everyone who loves to write, or has any reason to write or speak for their livelihood (and that includes asking for anything from another person). The author has written the most pared-down copywriting book (actually it's more like a brochure) that unapologetically apes from other tried and true sources. However, for someone starting out, this brochure is a decent intro. Hopefully, readers won't stop here but will either skip this in favor of the better known sources or use it as a launchpad for bigger and better things.
Just what I was looking for! I've been following Neville and his nevblog.com for years. Love his writing style. Digested this book in an hour yesterday. Now spending time re-reading each section. Great value!
its ok book for beginners but if you want to see result and actionable steps and strategies i reccomend john carlton work
Is this a joke? 52 pages of typos, junior high formatting, not even page numbers! Can't even get through 52 pages without swearing and poop references. This book was written by an immature hack. The advice is suitable for writing spam emails: ALL CAPS, bolding, breathless promises. Yeeks!

It's a quick read with fairly basic copywriting concepts, sprinkled with a gem of a tip or two. Fun writing, but typos abound.
